When I was younger I like most women watched two female authors explain the rules of dating on the Oprah show. I rushed to my computer and ordered the book, ‘The Rules’, the next day.
These rules weren’t new, in fact many seemed outdated and unrealistic but these women (who are now divorced) were married and happy. They were sharing their secrets with women all around the world and they were on Oprah! So I of course took it as gospel.
After reading ‘The Rules’ I didn’t stop there. I read numerous relationships and dating how-to books. I read books on human behavior, emotional maturity, self love, and self-esteem, you name it and I read it, in hopes of finding a husband.
I don’t believe that there is one way we should all behave when it comes to dating. Of course there is what’s popular, the kinds of behavior that most people will respond to but we’re all different. I encourage everyone to create dating rules that work for them.
Keep doing what works and stop doing what doesn’t.
K.I.S.S – Keep it simple, stupid single.
